Ashley Phoenix celebrates improved CQC ratings
There is plenty to celebrate at Ashley Phoenix, our residential home in Twerton, Bath, after the home achieved Good ratings for both Safe and Well-led in its latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessment, and is now rated Good overall.
The updated ratings reflect significant improvements made across the home over the past year, with inspectors recognising stronger leadership, effective governance, improved safeguarding processes and safer medicines management.
The updated ratings for Safe and Well-led means the home is now rated ‘Good’ overall by the CQC.
Ashley Phoenix exclusively supports D/deaf and deafblind people with learning disabilities to live happy, healthy and meaningful lives. During the assessment, inspectors found that people received safe, person-centred support from team members who know them well and understand their individual needs, preferences and communication styles.
The report also highlighted a positive culture within the home, where people are encouraged to maintain their independence, make choices and take an active role in everyday life.
Families spoke positively about the progress made, with one relative telling inspectors:
“I feel much happier that my loved one is receiving better support and there is an openness and transparency. This gives me confidence that my loved one is safe.”
Rachael Hawkins, Director of Operations – Wales & West England, said:
“This achievement reflects the dedication, professionalism and hard work of our team members, who have remained focused on delivering high-quality, person-centred support while continuously improving the home for the people we support.”
Laura Mace, Registered Home Manager, added:
“We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved at Ashley Phoenix over the past year and pleased that the inspection recognised the progress made across the home. Most importantly, we have kept the people we support at the centre of every improvement we have made.”
Congratulations to everyone at Ashley Phoenix on this well-deserved achievement.
