Residential home in Fareham achieves ‘Good’ CQC rating

Achieve together’s residential home at Stubbington Lane in Fareham has achieved an overall ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), with inspectors praising the service for meeting the Commission’s ‘right support, right care, right culture’ principles. 

In its report, the CQC highlighted the significant progress made at the service, which has improved to ‘Good’ following its previous ‘requires improvement’ rating. Inspectors recognised positive changes in leadership, oversight and the quality of support provided to people living at the home. 

A relative of a person we support shared: 

“These last few months, we have seen an improvement, particularly in our relative now consenting to go out. They are a lot happier.” 

A team member added: 

“The manager has good oversight of the work within the service and is actively involved in day-to-day operations. They regularly monitor risk, medication practices and daily notes to ensure we are running safely and effectively.” 

Key achievements recognised by the CQC include: 

  • Team members clearly understanding their roles and responsibilities 
  • Team members recognising the importance of reporting changes in people’s wellbeing 
  • Supportive and effective leadership from the manager 
  • A strong focus on helping people living in the home to live their best lives 
  • People we support being helped to plan for important life changes, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future, including end-of-life care.
