Achieve together’s residential home ‘170 Irchester’ in Northamptonshire has been rated ‘Good’ across all five inspection areas in its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Achieve together’s is proud to announce that its residential home ‘170 Irchester’ in Northamptonshire has been rated ‘Good’ across all five inspection areas in its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
This is an exceptional achievement for the home that had previously been rated as ‘inadequate’ under a previous provider. This rating meets one of Achieve together’s organisational goals – to have consistently good homes across its portfolio.
170 Irchester is a residential home for adults with autism, behaviours that may challenge and additional complex needs. The CQC found that team members engaged with people we support in a kind, respectful and patient manner, consistently promoting choice and independence throughout daily routines, giving them confidence that, despite communication barriers, people we support receive person‑centred care delivered in a way that meets their individual needs.
A relative of a person supported at 170 Irchester says:
“In recent months there have been several changes. Since then, I have seen a huge difference in [relative’s] demeanour. Team member training has improved and the leadership has improved.”
Another relative says:
“Recently the management team has strengthened, and staff have contributed to positive changes, which are noticeable”
Other highlights from the inspection include:
- People we support are relaxed, comfortable and at ease with team members
- People we support are given opportunities to go out and take part in activities that they enjoy.
- There is strong engagement between the home and the community
- Detailed Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans set out how we support people at different stages of distress, including during periods of crisis.
