Thoughtfully designed for independent living

Starbrook is a residential home in Wiltshire that supports adults with autism spectrum conditions, moderate and severe learning disabilities, complex needs including behaviours that may challenge, complex health needs, and epilepsy.

Starbrook has an extremely friendly and family-oriented approach, which creates a very warm and welcoming environment.  People are supported to develop person-centred plans that promote increased choice, control over their lives and increased independence skills whilst focusing on a Positive Behaviour Support approach to reduce everyday anxieties.

What we offer

A safe and supportive place

Starbook is a large, detached home situated in the town of Heywood. It features six bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a large outside paddock area and a sensory and activity-based garden.

There are great transport links nearby, with Westbury train station and Trowbridge train station only a short distance away, as well as bus stops at the end of the road. People can easily visit Westbury town to enjoy its shops, local pubs, bakeries and leisure centre.

Lifestyle

At Starbrook, people are encouraged to lead active lives, taking part in activities that increase their social and communication skills as well as confidence. Some examples of leisure activities people enjoy include swimming, day trips to the beach, activity centres, walking, trampolining, horse riding, arts and crafts and gardening, to name a few. People also go on day trips and holidays with the support of the team.

The team support people to develop and enhance their life skills to increase their levels of independence, supporting with meal preparation, cooking, self-care and grocery shopping.
