Hearing impairment support & D/deaf Services

Achieve together’s D/deaf homes and services include residential, supported housing, supported living, day and outreach services. We support people who are D/deaf or have hearing loss and who are living with learning disabilities or other complex needs including autistic spectrum conditions and mental health needs.

We have nearly 90 D/deaf homes and services which span England and Wales and are focused on enabling the people we support to enjoy the maximum independence and achieve their goals.

Every D/deaf person we support has unique needs and goals. That’s why every care and support package we offer is fully tailored to the individual. We learn about a person’s health, physical and emotional needs, how they want to be supported, and their goals and interests. We then pull out all the stops to support them to achieve their aims.

Flexibility is at the heart of what we do. Some people who use our D/deaf outreach services may simply need a little extra support with certain tasks while other people who are living in our D/deaf residential homes may have significantly complex needs and need one-to-one support around the clock.

Many of the Achieve together team members working in our D/deaf services are either D/deaf or have hearing loss themselves. All of our team members use British Sign Language (BSL) as well as a range of other strategies to communicate with people in their preferred way.
