More about our approach to quality and safeguardingAbout this support setting
Thoughtfully designed for independent living
Victoria House is a residential home for adults with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, communication needs and behaviours that may challenge. Individuals are supported to develop person-centred plans that promote increased choice, control over their lives and independence.
Our experienced team works in partnership with families, carers, advocates and public service professionals to ensure that the support provided is proactive and appropriate.
We actively follow the principles of person-centred planning, person-centred active support, SPELL and intensive interaction, which supports service users to express their wishes, make choices and achieve their planned outcomes.
Our Total Communication approach enables staff to implement individualised communication strategies for people with severe communication and sensory difficulties.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place
Victoria House is a warm and homely property with six bedrooms. If individuals wish to do so, there is also the opportunity to access communal space such as a lounge, dining room, larger kitchen facility, conservatory and a large garden.
Victoria House is located in South Woodford within easy reach of the town centre. There is access to a wide range of local community facilities, including shops, pubs, restaurants, libraries and colleges. The underground station and local bus stop are within a two-minute walk of Victoria House and provide excellent links to central London.
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
We support individuals to plan and organise their own activity timetables and take part in activities that develop social, communication and life skills. These range from support in daily life skills such as shopping through to college placements, voluntary and paid work placements and leisure activities. We currently support people to visit the local library and cinema, and a number of people at the service are members of a local theatre and regularly attend plays and musicals.
People are encouraged to express their rights freely and become contributing members of the community. In our experience, this helps to increase social and emotional well being and decreases the stigma that can affect people with learning disabilities.
