More about our approach to quality and safeguardingAbout this support setting
Thoughtfully designed for independent living
This home is a relaxed and social supported living home for up to eleven adults. People we support may be living with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour, mental health, or mild to severe learning disabilities.
At this home, we support people to develop the skills and confidence to live more independently. We provide emotional support and practical daily living skills to enable people to make informed choices and take control of their lives. Many of the people we support enjoy being active in the home and in the local community.
We develop a person-centred plan with every person we support. This outlines how they want to be supported and what they want to achieve in life. We work with carers, families, advocates and professionals to ensure that our support is responsive and tailored to each person’s needs.
Even the layout of our home promotes choice. People we support live in their own flat, which has a bathroom and small kitchenette where they can make small meals, drinks and snacks for themselves. However, if they want to get together with their friends in the home, the shared lounge, kitchen and garden – complete with hot tub – are great places to relax and socialise.
This home’s profile number is 247.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place
This is an elegant building on a private road. It’s light and spacious and is laid out over three floors. There are spaces for reading or doing one-to-one activities and larger rooms for eating or socialising. Each of the eleven flats has its own kitchenette and bathroom, so every person we support has the choice to have some time in their own space. However, if they want some company, all they need do is come downstairs to the communal areas. Ours is a friendly home with a family atmosphere, where everyone gets on well and enjoys each other’s company.
While we’re on a quiet road, this home is in the heart of Harrow-on-the-Hill, a historic village with a vibrant multicultural atmosphere. We’re only a couple of minutes’ walk from Harrow’s shopping centre, and there are easy transport links around the local area and into central London.
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
There’s always something happening at this home. People we support may be in their early twenties through to their mid-forties, but we all get on well. People enjoy cooking together and getting competitive with board games like Ludo and Snakes and Ladders. There’s often a birthday to celebrate, and of course, that means a party, with cake, music and dancing!
Our big garden is perfect for summer barbecues and ball games. We also like to get out and about a lot, to the beach, the zoo, or the many museums London has to offer.
The range of activities that people we support enjoy is as unique and varied as they are, and everything we do is driven by them. Some people go swimming regularly or play football, they keep fit at the gym or enjoy helping in the garden. There are more low-key pastimes, too, including art classes, pottery, cinema trips and pub lunches. The monthly home meeting is when everyone gets together to plan the activities they want to do together. People can be as involved as much as they want to – it’s their choice.
Independence is key at this home. We’ve supported people to find work or volunteering roles (four people we support volunteer in local charity shops). We’ve even supported people to go to university or improve their English at the local community college.
