About this home

Pippin House, located in Newton Abbot, Devon, is a specialist residential home providing 24-hour support to seven deaf and/or deafblind adults with diverse and sometimes complex needs, including learning and physical disabilities and mental ill-health.

We specialise in supporting people towards greater independence by maximising existing skills and fostering the development of new ones. Our team members, offering one-to-one support, are fully trained to meet people supported needs and communicate effectively using British Sign Language (BSL) as part of our “total communication” approach.

Pippin House, a spacious property, provides comfortable accommodation for seven adults in a vibrant and sociable environment. Situated near the local community and transport links, people supported are supported to access nearby shops, restaurants, activities, and places of interest.

Lifestyle

The home boasts a minibus, facilitating day trips, activities, and transportation for people supported. With its own driveway and spacious garden, the Tudor-style detached service provides ample space for comfort and relaxation.

Weekly in-house activities are organised based on people supported’ preferences, offering a variety of options such as craft projects, film nights, dancing, and gentle exercise.

People supported are also offered numerous opportunities to engage with the local community, including swimming, cinema outings, nature walks, and more.
