Thoughtfully designed for independent living
Pen y Hill is a specialist residential home providing 24-hour support for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), complex health needs, epilepsy, diabetes and communication and sensory impairments.
Individuals are supported to create personalised care plans that increase choice, independence and control over their lives. Every part of daily life is viewed as an opportunity to learn, with the support team working closely with each person, their family and healthcare professionals to help them achieve their goals. People are encouraged to connect with the wider community, helping to build confidence, social skills and communication skills.
This home is very active with people taking dance classes, visiting friends at other local homes and there is a good relationship with the local fire station with regular visits to see the trucks and equipment. Cheering their sports teams on at the pub, or getting together in the garden or at local community groups, are also favourite activities at this home.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place
Pen Y Hill is a five-bedroom detached property with bedrooms spread over two floors.
The property has two bedrooms upstairs with a shared bathroom facility, and the three bedrooms downstairs all have en suite facilities that have been adapted to aid mobility. There are also communal facilities for individuals to socialise with others, including a living room, dining room, conservatory and kitchen area.
There is a large garden surrounding the property, which people can access and where social activities and events take place.
Pen y Hill is situated on the outskirts of the historic market town of Abergavenny, which is accessible on foot or by using the homes vehicle. The home is situated in a quiet area but close to local amenities. There are plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and a local market is held three times a week.

Set on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, Abergavenny offers plenty in terms of outdoor opportunities with beautiful countryside just a stones throw away.
At this home, everyone is encouraged and supported to take part in activities in the local area. Popular outings include visits to Brecon Monkey Sanctuary, the Butterfly Farm, local museums and nearby pubs.
Abergavenny hosts annual festivals including a spring writing and literary festival and the popular Culinary festival in September of each year.
