About this home

New Dawn is a residential home for adults with learning disabilities, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), physical disabilities, communication and sensory impairments and complex health needs. The home provides a person-centred planning approach with individualised health plans that are focused on positive outcomes. Every aspect of a person’s life is seen as a potential learning opportunity.

People are supported to identify and maintain education placements and employment, as well as support to identify and attend social and leisure activities. The support team are available 24 hours a day, including a waking night team.

What we offer

New Dawn is a large bungalow with 19 ground-floor rooms. There are communal areas for people to socialise in, including a living room, dining room and kitchen. There is a large garden as well as a hot tub and sensory room for people to enjoy, especially in the summer.

The location of the home means that individuals are supported in accessing the nearby skills centre in Norwich, which provides a wide range of classes, therapy/sensory sessions and community-based activities.

Lifestyle

New Dawn is a home full of life and laughter. Mobility is at the centre of this home, and it has been designed and equipped with specialist equipment to ensure everyone can move around easily. The home is spacious and has its own day centre attached to the property. A sensory room is available as part of this.

At New Dawn, people are supported to take part in a range of activities, including gardening, music sessions, flower arranging, trips to the theatre, trips on holiday overseas, visiting the local shops and many more. They can also enjoy the facilities the home provides, including relaxing in the garden and using the sensory room.

There are many community facilities in the nearby town, such as shops, the local pub, which individuals can regularly visit if they wish and useful amenities such as the GP and Chemists.
