Loxwood Corner is a large detached property, currently undergoing refurbishment in West Sussex, that offers 24-hour residential support to adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and associated complex needs.
Due to open in December 2023, get in touch if you’d like more information or to join the referrals waiting list.
People are supported to be as independent as possible, and team members provide care in a person-centred way so that support is tailored towards individual needs. People are encouraged and motivated to lead a fulfilling life and to be actively involved in making their own decisions.
This home is made up of 6 en-suite bedrooms, each with private wetrooms with ceiling tracking and hoist coverage. All of the bedrooms have been designed to allow for 2:1 support, with substantial floor space and adequate turning space for wheelchair users, built-in hoists, nurse call, and lift facilities. The property is fitted with non-slip flooring and ground floor apartments also offer patio doors directly from the bedrooms into the property’s outside space, creating a sense of wellbeing through connecting with the outdoors.
Loxwood Corner has a bright and modern kitchen, which is always open and is fitted with high and low countertops to enable accessibility for all and enable those we support to get involved as they wish in preparing meals, cooking for pleasure, and baking.
In addition to its well-maintained and spacious gardens and sensory spaces, the property also has a newly decorated communal lounge, giving people the opportunity to interact with others and promoting social inclusion. There’s also substantial storage space, which creates a tidy and modern feel to this house, and an in-house medical room for whenever it’s required. People supported can use a separate bathroom, too, which comes complete with a Parker bath.
Our team members are highly trained to provide specialist PMLD support and will encourage everyone we support at Loxwood Corner to maximise their independent living skills and are supported in line with their personal daily outcome plans. Each person has a weekly activity plan to ensure that they are participating in meaningful activities both at the home and in the local community.
