Thoughtfully designed for independent living
Alderton House is a residential home in Cambridgeshire supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism spectrum conditions, personality disorders and Angelman’s Syndrome.
Alderton House supports people to achieve their goals, participate in meaningful activities, try new experiences and be as independent as possible. We provide a solid base of support to help people with boundaries, routines, structure, independent living skills, as well as emotional and social needs.
Each person has an individual support plan tailored to their personal preferences. The log cabin in the garden at Alderton House can be used as an activity room, particularly for people who enjoy painting and other creative activities and can also be used as a sensory room.

What we offer
A safe and supportive place
This home is a large detached nine-bed residential home, all with en-suite bathrooms. With a large lounge, a small lounge, kitchen, dining room and garden with a sensory room, there’s plenty of room for people to socialise.
The home has its own vehicles and has easy access to buses and trains, including rail services to London, which is 75 minutes away by train.
The fully enclosed garden has space set aside for people who enjoy gardening and a swing available for everyone’s use.
The home is around five miles from the cathedral city of Ely and 20 miles from Cambridge. There are a number of shops locally, including a small supermarket, a bakery, a bank, a chemist and a number of different restaurants and pubs. It also has a doctor’s surgery, a dentist and an optician.
We’re not just participants. We’re planners, presenters, and leaders.

Lifestyle
There are a number of colleges within easy access of the home that offer a variety of courses to people with learning disabilities. Littleport Leisure Centre offers facilities including a gym, all-weather courts for football and netball and evening entertainment.
The team support people in the development of daily life skills with a view to increasing independence, including budgeting and finance, self-care, meal preparation, grocery shopping and domestic tasks.
We are happy to explore opportunities with people who are of interest and or would support us with gaining confidence, new skills and, of course, just having fun!
