Today we bring you the amazing success of staff at Restormel House, who attended Plymouth City Council’s Celebrating Excellence in Care Awards on Saturday evening and won two of the night’s top awards!
Two team members at Restormel House were nominated for awards; Damien Knight for Care Worker of the Year and Matt Spurling for the Promoting Independence Award. The night was attended by over 300 people and included a formal sit-down dinner. Regional Manager for Restormel House, Sarah Ghent and Carla Dearing, the manager at Restormel, also attended.
The awards themselves are organised by the Quality Assurance & Improvement Team at Plymouth City Council and they are designed to highlight and celebrate the best practice across the care sector in Plymouth. The awards showcase all aspects of social care, including residential and nursing care homes, as well as domiciliary care and supported living services. The awards celebrate and acknowledge excellence in care, innovations, partnerships and collaborative working, commitment to providing excellent care and inspiring contributions from individuals and teams across the care sector.
There were 32 awards in total that were handed out by a range of local dignitaries. Both Damien and Matt won their awards and Damien was presented with his award by Craig McArdle, the Strategic Director of People for Plymouth City Council and Matt was presented his award by Anna Coles, the Director of Integrated Commissioning at Plymouth City Council.
A great night was had by all and we are extremely proud of both Damien and Matt. Congratulations to you both!
