At Achieve together we celebrate the diversity among our team members, and people we support in our homes.
What is Pride?
Pride month is an annual celebration of freedom, love, friendship, and acceptance for all members of the LGBTQ+ community. People gather together to support and celebrate the progression and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community’s rights.
The progressions society and the world has made are clear when we look back to The Stonewall Riots in 1968.
How does Achieve together support the LGBTQ+ community within the organisation?
Our Health and Wellbeing Team host weekly LGBTQ+ online social groups called ConnectAt and Gender Connect, where people can meet to discuss, have fun, and meet like-minded people in a safe space.
Achieve together also provide specialist support for gender diverse people, for example, transgender or non-binary people.
You can read our Transgender easy read we created with Choice Support and CHANGE here.
We spoke to Rhosyn a transgender woman who lives in one of our Welsh homes to talk about how the support she has received from Achieve together has helped her to explore her gender identity and express who she truly is. You can read Rhosyn’s story here.
