The team here will help build resilience in people through the promotion of positive risk-taking and through equipping people with practical, transferable skills.

The aim of this home is to reduce dependence on team members and provide the necessary skills for those supported to thrive independently both inside and outside of the home so that they might then be able to move on to greater independence in the future.

Outreach support for those able to move on is offered, providing continuity of support.

There has been many goals achieved, with one person supported now working full-time and living with their partner while receiving outreach support.

What we offer

Situated in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, the home is a large house that has five en-suite bedrooms and one self-contained flat. There are also communal areas, including a large kitchen and dining area, lounge and dining room, plus a spacious private garden where a lot of leisure activities take place throughout the year.

The home is close to local shops and amenities and has good transport links to surrounding towns and coastal resorts.

Lifestyle

People living here lead very active lives and are encouraged to participate in a range of activities within the home and the local community. This includes trips to the coast, cinema, arts and crafts sessions, shopping, visiting day centres and bowling. There is a great weekly disco in Ryde which people often enjoy.

Our specialist team of 12 are here to support with confidence building, employment finding, budgeting, basic life skills, cooking, cleaning and preparing to live independently.
