Vanessa Hughes, HR Director

I have worked in the field of HR for over 30 years and am a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Having worked in a variety of sectors in my career I am delighted to now be leading the People Team at Achieve together. Delivering a great customer experience is at the heart of everything that I do, with a mantra of always trying to make things better – for both our team members and people we support.

I love working with the wider People Team whose job it is to provide an effective recruitment service, learning and development solutions, HR advisory service and HR operational support for our team members.

This is my first experience of working in the social care sector, and I have been so impressed by the dedication, spirit, and enthusiasm of all of the team members and colleagues I come into contact with. Our values really resonate with me and every day I am committed to having fun and making things happen.

In an often very busy role, which and involves dealing with both internal and external stakeholders, the favourite parts of my job include supporting the Employee of the Month awards, process and engagement with representatives from both Unity, and the Ambassadors forum.  As a member of the Oi Exec team, I value the contribution and participation of the wider Achieve together teams who join these weekly sessions to offer feedback and insights on what is important to them.

I am really excited about the People Team’s plans for the future which has some exciting developments on the way, striving to make Achieve together the best place to work and live.
