World Heart Day
Meesons Lodge also celebrate World Heart Day at the end of September by doing activities that improve your heart health. The people supported learnt about foods that are good for the heart and exercised in the garden.
Gavin from Sail Close decided he wanted to grow tomatoes in his garden. He used to be a gardener for the Queen at Sandringham Hosue in Norfolk. His keyworker Jenny has her own allotment and knows a lot about gardening, so he supported him in choosing and purchasing the tomato seeds.
He tended to his crops daily and showed real motivation with taking care of them. As the harvest is upon us, Gavin now has plenty of tomatoes to share with others at Sail Close. He has grown two varieties this year including Plum and Sunrise tomatoes.
Acorn House banded together and put their artistic hats on to create a dream board. The people we support created these boards to display the things they would like to do or achieve in the future.
The Key Workers at Manor Barn put together a fantastic Tapas and Mocktail party for the gentlemen. They enjoyed the delicious foods and had fun ordering mocktails from the staff at the ‘bar’.
The people at Ty Coedwig are enjoying the last of the good weather by forming a bike club. It has really helped them stay active and enjoy time outside together.
Manor Barn kept their spirits up by holding a Pub Quiz. After some tough questions, Charlie was the winner and was very pleased with his box of Heroes.
