This home is a 24-hour supported living home for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and autism spectrum conditions, including high functioning.

The team provide support for up to ten people so that they can live in their own home as independently as possible. People live in studio flats with some shared communal facilities, being; a communal lounge, dining room, kitchen and shared laundry facilities.

The home works collaboratively with people, supporting them with realistic and achievable positive outcomes in developing their independence. Team members work closely with community teams to ensure that people continue to access key services and community facilities. This close working relationship allows them to focus on increased independence, recovery and relapse prevention for those who have mental health needs.

What we offer

This home is a large detached property with ten en-suite studio flats, each with kitchenettes designed to help people live more independently. There are also communal spaces for individuals to socialise with others, including a larger kitchen facility, lounge and dining room area.

The home is located only a short bus ride from the town centre and seafront, where a wide range of community facilities can be accessed. Eastbourne has excellent train and bus links to Brighton, central London and surrounding areas, which provide good day trip opportunities.

Lifestyle

People are supported to take part in a range of activities in order to increase social and communication skills as well as gain new experiences. These include activities within the home such as arts and crafts, gardening, cooking, baking and social events, as well as community activities such as visiting day centres, cinema trips, meals out at local restaurants, day trips to the coast and many more.

The home sees every aspect of a person’s daily life as a potential learning opportunity, working collaboratively with each person in areas that might include personal care, cooking, shopping, domestic tasks and in planning individual recreational and developmental activities.
