About this home

Kings Road is a residential home supporting adults with autism spectrum conditions, moderate learning disabilities, complex needs including behaviours that may challenge, hearing impairments, epilepsy and diabetes.

The service follows an active and structured person-centred approach and intensive interaction, which supports people to achieve their planned outcomes. Our Total Communication approach enables staff to implement individualised communication strategies for service users with severe communication and sensory difficulties. People are supported to develop person-centred plans that promote increased choice, control over their lives and independence.

What we offer

Kings Road can accommodate up to six adults. Each bedroom has en-suite facilities, and the communal space includes a large kitchen facility, lounge, dining room, activity room, sensory area and a large sensory garden. There is WiFi throughout the property and access to Xbox, DVDs and Wii.

Kings Road is a warm and homely property situated in the small coastal town of Lee-on-the-Solent, just a few minutes walk from the seafront. The town centre is close by, where there are good links to a wide range of local community facilities. Portsmouth and Gosport are a short drive away and are perfect for day trips.

Lifestyle

At Kings Road, individuals are supported to identify and take part in activities of their choice that develop social, communication and life skills. These range from support in daily living skills such as shopping through to college placements, voluntary work experience, paid work placements and growing their own vegetables and herbs. Individuals can also enjoy trips to the seafront, local restaurants and leisure centres.

In our purpose-built activity room, service users are supported to engage in activities, including arts and crafts, numeracy, literacy and budgeting. Service users can also enjoy sensory activities in our sensory area, which includes lights, a bubble machine, weighted blankets and cushions.
