About this home

Birdhurt Rise is a residential home for adults with learning disabilities, behaviours that may challenge, autism spectrum conditions, epilepsy and/or complex needs. The service provides a person-centred planning approach and support with life and independence skills development.

Individuals will be supported to identify and maintain education placements and/or employment and support in taking part in leisure activities. The home maintains strong relationships with families and care professionals, and team members are available 24 hours a day, including waking night staff.

What we offer

Birdhurst Rise is a homely detached property with eight en-suite bedrooms. There are also communal areas for people to socialise in, including a lounge, dining room and kitchen. Additionally, individuals can have access to a large private garden and an activity room where leisure activities can take place.

The service is situated in a vibrant multicultural area in South Croydon. The town centre is a ten-minute walk away, where people can access a range of community facilities such as colleges and employment opportunities. Additionally, there are great transport links to central London and surrounding areas.

Lifestyle

At Birdhurst Rise, people are supported to take part in any leisure activities they choose to. Individuals lead busy and active lives, and examples of leisure activities they take part in include swimming, cookery classes, discos, visits to the park and day centres, eating out at restaurants and shopping.

Many individuals enjoy gardening in the large garden, and they have grown a range of products such as coriander, spring onions, plants and flowers.

People are also supported to develop their independence skills in order to live with less support, this includes budgeting, cooking and meal preparation, as well as support in identifying any education, paid work and/or volunteering.
