Our services celebrated LGBTQ+ History Month!

22B Carden Avenue participated in LGBTQ+ History Month by dressing in the different colours of the rainbow.

The people we support at Birmingham Road, Cloverdale House and DCA West Bromwich enjoyed LGBTQ+ activities such as flag painting, baking, arts and crafts, word searches, quizzes and face painting. Check out that incredible rainbow cake!

To celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, our team ran a rainbow competition for some of our homes. A huge congratulations to our winners… New Dawn & Vallance Gardens!

 

Love was in the air for Valentine’s Day!

Take a look at some of our highlights from Valentine’s, including a lovely Valentine’s cake at Girling Street, a Valentine’s themed house meeting at Harbour, themed decorations at Mill View, chocolate at Glencourt, beautiful Valentine’s cards and decorations at Sandylee House, music, dancing, cards and cakes at 22a Carden Avenue, a Valentine’s roast at Govis House and a joint Valentine’s ‘Arty Hearts’ competition between Honeywood, Victoria House and Meesons Lodge!

A lot of pancakes were made!

The people we support at Govis House, Uplands House, Ty Cudd, Bargoed Hall and Ty Nant all enjoyed some delicious pancakes!

It was the Lunar New Year!

Meesons Lodge celebrated the start of the Year of the Ox in style! They made glittery sensory bottles, explored fans and paper umbrellas, enjoyed delicious homemade Chinese food and danced to traditional Chinese music.

Music kept everyone going!

Pete from Valley Road has been enjoying playing the keyboard during lockdown as he loves to sing and hear music!

Gordon from Valley Road learnt to play this tune by himself. Well done Gordon, the team are so proud of you!

There were some lockdown birthdays!

Happy birthday to Callum who celebrated his 26th birthday at Rivendell! He enjoyed a tea party and a delicious chocolate cake that he picked himself.

David from Glencourt celebrated his special day with housemates!

A very happy birthday to Aaron at Church View who turned 30! When asked who he would like to attend his birthday party, he said Boris Johnson and the Queen!

Steve and Sue enjoyed their birthday celebrations at Pen-y-Hill. Steve celebrated his birthday with a beer and Chinese takeaway with housemates, while Sue had a tea party with everyone. We hope you both had a lovely day!

Plus… all of this happened too!

The people we support at Ty Newydd collected items for a local food bank. Each individual added extras to their weekly food shop to contribute towards the collection. Well done to everyone for thinking about those in need!

A big well done to all the people we support and 12 of our team members at Catherine House who received their COVID-19 vaccination!

Ty Gorsaf had a great time with their rugby themed activity! They coloured in daffodils and Welsh dragons to support Wales in the rugby. Some of the people we support even joined our team to watch the match and everyone got to enjoy burgers afterwards.

Check out this amazing baby shower that Winston Lodge threw for our team member Chloe!

Kings Road came up with a bunch of creative ideas to spice up life in lockdown! Activities include bingo, Nintendo Wii bowling, karaoke, board games, arts and crafts, film nights and themed dinner evenings!

Starbrook made this amazing cake – what a mask-erpiece!

With lockdown restrictions in place, our team at Bower Mount Road organised for an ice-cream van to visit the service as a well-deserved treat and to cheer everyone up!

Ty Coedwig enjoyed a number of activity days throughout lockdown to keep spirits up. One of their highlights was dog therapy day!

St Helens House were busy celebrating National Muffin Day, National Tortilla Day and National Chilli Day!
